This is my backyard. Every time that I hear about someone mentioning a backyard, I think twice before I simply say that my backyard is a forest. I haven't really gone into this forest too often. I feel that I should. I feel like that I'm missing out on so much, but I don't know what I'm missing out on. I usually stay stuck in my room, the office, and just fiddle around on my computer. I open up the widow every now and then to look out the window. In fact, this forest is right in between my house and the huron river. The huron river is about an eight minute walk from my house. This right here is what you can see from my deck. The trees on the ground have a story to them actually. A few years ago during a summer, a lighting bolt hit one of the trees. You can look from outside the window and see where the bolt hit and here, is what remains. There was no house damage or fires.
With these four images were taken out at the Barton Dam along West Huron drive. I don't live too far away from the barton dam, considering the fact that I live nearby the huron river. Over at the dam, there's a large pooling of water that almost serves as a lake. At the summer time, people tend to kyat down the river after the dam, or down the river nearby the bridge. It's not clear in these shots, but behind the dam are a couple of households that live along the northern side of the river. It wasn't too easy to avoid getting some houses in the shots, but as the photographer I was, I was able to get a good shot. I took this shot with small dock that was along the southern side of the river. I was able to get closer to the northern side...just a bit. In fact, I saw another photographer out at the dam taking some shots of the pond.
